Church services are at 11.00am and 6.15pm every Sunday
Orchard Place has been in existence since 1871, and, being situated in the town centre, directly opposite the beautiful Victoria Gardens, it has been central to the Neath town community since its inception. The Church is an English Baptist Church, and exists to advance the Christian faith, according to the principles of the Baptist denomination, and also advance education and carry out as much charitable work as possible. The church is affiliated to the South Wales Baptist Association, and is part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain.
The church is built over 3 floors, with the upper 2 floors comprising the church sanctuary itself, and various meeting rooms. The lower floor is a large area, which mainly provides the area for the children’s activities, the Little Steps creche, the larger Church meetings, the afternoon teas for visitors, along with shows and other events, which may necessitate the use of the stage area at one end of the room.
At Orchard Place, we enjoy a happy and friendly environment, one which has been promoted and nurtured by the membership and its Ministers over many years. Indeed our last 4 Ministers have served in total for over 100 years, and three of these have finished their ministry by actually retiring from Orchard Place.
Following the retirement of our Minister, we are actively in the process of seeking a new Minister for our Church. We hope to welcome a new Minister in the near future.
Orchard Place has a body of ten Deacons and Officers, who look after the ongoing stewardship of the church on behalf of the members. The membership as a whole are very supportive of each other, and make the church work together by utilising their various skills and talents for the good of all.
