We believe God wants us to care for others in our community, and we seek to involve ourselves as much as possible in our local community.
We have a team of home visitors, who visit the house-bound, and those friends in hospital.
We make monthly visits to the elderly in our community, and make monthly visits to 2 residential homes in our community.
We support ‘Fairtrade’ within the Neath Fairtrade group.
We support the ‘Angel Tree’ project, which, in association with the Prison Fellowship, provides Christmas gifts to children of those in prison at Christmas time.
We provide a summer tea at the Church for elderly residents of the local care homes, with entertainment during the afternoon being provided by children from local primary schools.
Orchard Place has become, over a period of 10 years, the ‘home’ of Foodbank in the town of Neath, and it is operated by members of the church in conjunction with representatives of other churches in the local area. At present, Foodbank operates from 2pm to 4pm every Tuesday and Friday afternoons.
God’s love knows no boundaries, and guided by this:-
We have supported orphanages in Russia and Bulgaria.
We support Christian charities such as Christian Aid, Ethiopaid, Water Aid, SMILE International and others, as well as our own Baptist Mission projects through BMS World Mission, and Home Mission.
We have, over recent years, supported a number of projects further afield, such as schools in India, Thailand and Zambia.
We respond to financially support those affected by natural disasters in other countries.
